Three out of four Catalans are in favor of a referendum on self-determination. Results from a survey held by Centre d’Estudis de l’Opinió (CEO),  show that a 74.1% of Catalans would be in favor of holding a referendum on self-determination, to decide if Catalonia wants to become a new state of Europe. 20%, however, are against and 6% did not know or did not answer.

Even though CEO is a public body, under the dependence of the Catalan government, previous surveys made public at the end of September, also gave a huge support for the Referendum. La Vanguardia‘s survey showed even a higher percentage of support, up to 84%. Those opposed reached 15%, and 10% DnK/DnA. Also El Periódico de Catalunya published a survey where those in favour of the Referendum were 71% and those against 23.1%.

As data shows, Catalan citizens support by a huge number the launching of the referendum as announced by Mr. Artur Mas, President of Catalonia.
