GOS prime minister, Mr. Mariano Rajoy, has provoked a strong reaction when he compared the economic situation of Spain with Uganda‘s in a SMS sent to his Minister of Economy during the negotiation talks on the rescue with Eurozone bosses (“Hold on, we are the EU fourth power, Spain is not Uganda”, wrote Rajoy as quoted by Madrid based El Mundo newspaper). Mr. Rajoy’s boast has generated hundreds of Ugandans tweets who are offended with its colonialist bias. However, others used it to make fun of Spanish situation.

Many Ugandans are offended since Mr. Rajoy message consider Uganda is economically weak. Many others though, ironically, compare both countries, and show Uganda’s economy strength, still growing, and the African nation huge wealth.
